Mission Statement

I built this website primarily to help other entrepreneurs and internet marketers become successful in the IM (Internet Marketing) arena by sharing my own experiences. There isn't any other subject area on the internet right now that is as full of lies, empty promises, half-truths, and misinformation as the IM arena.

Here on this blog I discuss many of the various ways of making money online that I have discovered and tried such as:

I would really enjoy helping other people become successful in their online career efforts. I would like to teach you how to make enough money on the internet so that you will be able to accomplish one of two things:

  1. Generate an additional income for yourself, or...
  2. Completely replace your current job/income and earn a living for your family by marketing products online, from the comfort of your own home.

This website presents a "no-holds barred" approach to giving you information in full detail of each of my online experiences as an affiliate marketer. I document each of the mistakes I've made, good and bad products that I've promoted, and software that I use on my websites, etc.
Also, I will try to teach you the many lessons that I learned the hard way, money I wasted, time I wasted, and the mindset that is required if you really want to "make it" online.


About Matt Vaden

My name is Matt Vaden and I am the owner of Matt's Affiliate Journey.

I am a 33 year old, husband & father from West Point, MS. I have been working online since 2004, but I have been working on UNIX servers and desktop computers since 1998. I was first introduced to computers when I joined the US Navy and ever since I first laid my hands on a computer I have been extremely interested in what makes them work (hardware & software components). I have always had a huge desire to learn everything I could about software, websites, UI design. Frankly, I love computers.


My interest in software and software design is the primary reason that I ended working with websites and the internet. Between 2002 and 2004 I worked for State Farm Insurance on their 2nd level UNIX support team (Software and programming support for custom UNIX systems). During this time frame I really began to investigate the possibilities of making money online.


I have studied a multitude of different internet marketing classes, watched a ridiculous number of "how-to" videos, listened to more webinars than I ever care to tell you about, and it all boils down to one simple thing: The internet is NOT the place where you will get rich-quick! However, if you are willing to work very hard and diligently, follow instructions, and listen to some experienced advice, you can indeed earn a living for you and your family from the comfort of your own home. However, THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN QUICKLY OR EASILY!


I mean, after all, if you were to start a normal brick-mortar type of business, would you honestly expect to get rich overnight? I mean where are your customers gonna come from? How are you gonna get them to come back and continue buying products and/or services from you? How will you continue to reach new customers over the years? How do you plan on growing your product line and available options to your current and prospective new customers? See what I mean? You must have a plan!
